I’ve been seeing everyone make these Christmas gift things, and I was cleaning up my room when I came across these.

I got a handful of these postcards when I went to see Derek Landy for a book signing way back in 2009 in Melbourne. Now that I’m moving, I feel like I need to give them away.

So here’s what I’m gonna do.

I’m gonna give them away (shock horror!). I’ve got 10 that I’m going to be sending off to any corner of the glob which you please. I’m going to write on them a special, personalised message and send them off to you.

Oh, but on one of them I’m not going to write a personal message at all because I will pick someone at random to get this one:

Well, there’s not a lot to say, as most of this is based off the “feel” you got.

Personally, it’s my favorite because I am dirty heathen Valduggery shipper and base my enjoyment of the novels off the amount of shipping.

…… That was a joke.

Anyway, I did think Argeddion was an excellent character, and Lenka was amazing, as was Hansard in his appearance, though I agree that the Super Teens were flat.

And the plot? Definitely suffers a bit… but I don’t know, I feel like Derek always balances way too many sub plots.

But I love the ‘shit just got real’ ness of this book, and Lenka, and Elsie, and Hansard, and argeddion’s complexity (compared to previous villains, especially) and everything about the alps, oh my god, the battle scenes and Valkyrie getting destroyed and being able to keep coming back…

I was just really pumped for it and it delivered. Maybe it was because i read most of it at 12-3 am. Who knows. ahahha

(And the Valduggery was good too.)
